(PRWEB) April 30, 2005 -- On May 4, 2005 the Portage Community Peace Coalition and the Kent State Anti-War Committee will sponsor a march and rally against the ongoing war and related US human rights violations. The march will begin at approximately 3:30pm, ½ hour after the annual May 4 Task Force Commemoration for the students killed and wounded by National Guard forces in 1970.
The March will assemble on the KSU Commons following the Commemoration. The march will begin with a visit to the Prentice Hall parking lot to pay tribute to each of the students slain in 1970, and continue to Terrace Hall for an action at the ROTC offices. The march will then proceed to the Gazebo at the corner of Main & Franklin Streets in downtown Kent for a speak-out against the war.
In case of rain, the May 4 Task Force Commemoration will be held in the Student Center Ballroom, and the Portage Peace/KSAWC March will assemble in the Student Center Plaza.
